CEO in Training
CEO in Training creates a gamified simulation offering participants the opportunity to manage a company operating in the competitive frozen sliced apple industry with responsibility for every aspect of the business.
The program is based on its Founder’s 30+ years of business, finance and leadership experience.
“CEO in Training” is a virtual, 12 week program hosted on Google Classroom. The cost of the program is $2,499. The next session commences on September 23, 2021.
SimulationParticipants will familiarize themselves with the Frozen Apple Industry and Simulation Rules of the Road, design their own processing facility, fund it through a combination of debt and equity, bid against each other to purchase raw apples from markets around the country, determine their finished product cost, develop a staffing plan, set compensation levels, schedule production, manage inventory, and bid against other participants for customer contracts.
Financial ModelParticipants will receive step by step instruction on developing an integrated financial model including projected income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and their respective drivers and assumptions. Instruction in general accounting principles, loan amortization schedules, break even analysis, ratio analysis, net present value IRR calculations, and ROA, ROI and ROE calculations will be covered.
General InstructionParticipants will also receive instruction on a wide range of general business topics related to each phase of the simulation. Topics include macro economics, capital markets, costing methods, interest rate construction, currencies, risk analysis, the time value of money, net present value & IRR calculations, the business cycle and a general overview of bankruptcy.
What to Expect
- “CEO in Training” is a 12-week program.
- The next session will commence on September 23, 2021.
- All sessions are virtual and will be hosted on Google Classroom.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is helpful but not required.
- The cost of the 12-week program is $2,499.
- The group will meet once a week on Thursdays from 1-4pm.
- A 1-hour session will be held each Tuesday morning from 11am-noon, to review materials and assignments from the prior week’s session.
- All participants must have access to a computer, the internet and a quiet place to work during each session.

Their task is to lead one of six apple processing companies located across the country, through a single processing season, from September harvest, through the production season, to the end of the contract period. The frozen sliced apple industry is a mature, seasonal and highly competitive industry.
